Looking for a good home-cooked meal in a comfortable throwback atmosphere? A popular breakfast spot for Canadohta Lake vacationers, Countryside Grille in downtown Union City is a family-run restaurant open for dine-in, takeout, even curbside pickup. The expansive menu includes burgers, wings and full-course homestyle dinners.
All year long, the restaurant offers Fish Fridays, a super-popular event due to the large portions and the comfy homey country vibe. Customers appreciate both the reasonable prices and the attentive service.
Owner Melissa Morris and her family started Countryside Grille in 2019, and have been serving up delicious homestyle cooking that has become a downtown comfort food staple. “Everyone here is a regular,” said Melissa’s daughter. “They come back again and again for the delicious comfort food, but also for the connection with the community.”
Breakfast is available until 11 a.m., featuring specials like eggs and pancakes, meatball omelettes, Philly steak omelettes, sausage and gravy over biscuits, and eggs Benedict with perfectly cooked sausage links. Hearty lunches and dinners include baked haddock, sweet potato fries with brown sugar butter hot wings, beef tips served with savory gravy over noodles, Reuben sandwiches and homemade Zuppa soup.
Known especially for its homemade pies, Countryside Grille’s most popular flavor is Cherry Dream — which features fresh cherries in every bite — and Mixed Berry.
Every Saturday, from 8 to 11 a.m., the restaurant offers free kid’s breakfast for kids 10 and under, with the purchase of an adult meal for each free kid’s meal. They also offer a 10% senior discount on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Countryside Grille is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m, and closed on Sundays.
