Offering a curated mix of art, antiques, salvage and eclectic items, Your Artisans & Antiques Specialists (YAAS) Mercantile is brimming with two floors of home decor and unique gifts. Since 2020, the store has been anchored at the edge of Edinboro Lake in The Mill, a more than 100-year-old building just past the “Welcome to Edinboro” sign off Route 6N.
Antiquers come from all over the tri-state area – Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh – to purchase collectible glass, early American pottery, century-old books, vintage toys, art, small furniture, wooden boxes, carved pieces, wood-and-metal decor and primitives. Some regular customers arrive via bus tour, decked out in vintage hats.
YAAS Mercantile features a range of merchandise and pricing, and you’ll see different things each time you come in. A family-owned LLC, the store is operated by a team of antiquers who work together. The proprietor is the former owner of Hidden Treasures in Erie, which he owned with his late wife, Becky. The YAAS name is a tribute to her, so the store honors her memory both in its name and in its commitment to friendly customer service.
In addition to antique vendors, a main part of the store’s mission is supporting the work of local vendors, such as the Edinboro Chocolaterie, and artisans whose work is featured throughout the store in dedicated vendor spaces. The community of artists is special, and YAAS is happy to provide the opportunity to benefit Edinboro businesses.
YAAS changes its displays almost monthly, and hosts banner sales, seasonal events, wine tastings and other promotions, including its popular Americana event in mid-June. The holidays are the busiest time of year, with its Christmas Open House. The store hosts several “Shop the Walk” events, especially during the change of seasons, with flash sales on the items placed on its grand walkway around back.
YAS Mercantile is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The store is closed on Sundays. Hours may vary with holidays, so calling ahead is recommended.
